Event Description:
The south coast of San Mateo County is home to resilient ecosystems and resilient people. We cherish the land that nurtures and restores us, and appreciate for those who care for it. Join us to celebrate our connections to nature, culture, and community with a short, peaceful hike through the amazing redwood forests of Pescadero Creek County Park, followed by a delicious "taco bar" picnic lunch prepared from locally grown foods. Guides from the San Mateo Resource Conservation District will share stories of how this amazing forest landscape, ravaged just four years ago by the CZU Lightning Complex Fire, has been restored to health. Fun games and prizes, too!
Hike begins at the Old Haul Road parking area on Wurr Road, followed by picnic at the Wurr Flat Campground #2.
All activities presented in both Spanish and English.
