Event Description:
¡Un paseo por las cúpulas de ciprés! invites people to experience what is like to be submerged into Everglades National Park’s cypress habitat. By participating in this program, participants will benefit from: (1) Fun, educational experiences at Everglades National Park; (2) learning more about the third-largest National Park in the lower forty-eight states. Our aim is to educate the local Latino community about the natural resources that Everglades provide for the lower half of Florida. We aim to entertain participants and teach them enough about this land to encourage them to visit more often.
Those interested in participating in ¡Un paseo por las cúpulas de ciprés! can RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/slough-slog-un-paseo-por-las-cupulas-de-cipres-tickets-47471835538. There is a minimum age of 12 years old for safety purposes and a limited amount of spaces.
The National Park Service is committed to engaging and celebrating the diversity and culture of their surrounding communities. Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is a Hispanic Access Foundation initiative. Every year interns from the Latino Heritage Internship Program host a variety of naturally and culturally inclusive activities for Latinos, a historically underrepresented visitor demographic to the National Park Service.
